However, for the Takara Tomy release of Atomic, its spring lock is noticeably weaker than Orbit's, making Atomic lag behind its predecessor in terms of Burst Resistance. Furthermore, the free-rotating ball increases the Burst Resistance of a Defense Combination. While these features may imply that an Atomic Combination would be easy to Knock-Out, in reality the heavy weight of SwitchStrike/God Layers, Cho-Z Layers, Forge Discs and Atomic's own weight compensates for the rotating ball. If hard launched, the greater surface area creates a semi-aggressive movement pattern early in the battle, bringing the Beyblade close to the Tornado Ridge. However, in practice, the free-rotating nature of the ball reduces most of the Knock-Out Defense given by the surface area of the ball. Like all other ball-based Performance Tips, the tabs around Atomic are meant to act as brakes against Knock-Outs at the cost of Stamina by striking against the stadium floor. However, the larger diameter makes such contact rare. In theory, the wider tip would increase a Beyblade's Knock-Out Defense by having greater surface area and friction.
Unlike Orbit, the ball of Atomic is approximately 3.4 times larger in volume or 1.3 times wider in diameter. Performance Tip - Atomic Main article: Performance Tip - AtomicĪtomic is a Performance Tip that features a free-rotating ball tip, akin to its predecessor Orbit, surrounded by a four-tabbed, free-spinning ring. While the round shape may imply high Life-After-Death, the rough perimeter makes it outclassed for Defense and Stamina by Glaive and Cross. While too small to come into contact with the opponent's Layer, Bump is one of the thickest and thus heaviest Frames in the game, heavier than Meteor, which grants high Attack potential when paired with Core Discs such as 7. While 7 has greater Stamina, 5 is still comparable.ĭisc Frame - Bump Main article: Disc Frame - Bumpīump is a round Disc Frame with numerous protrusions to give it a rough perimeter. 5's overall shape resembles a reversed 4 and acts almost identically with the same high Stamina potential, Knock-Out Resistance and Life-After-Death when paired with Disc Frames such as Glaive or Cross. While the asymmetrical design may imply imbalance, the smaller size of two of the protrusions on the three lobed side ensures that the Disc is balanced. One side features two protrusions and the other features three, all molded in the shape of "5"s and the center features two small holes on either side. While not enough to completely break Sieg Xcalibur, if one is fearful of possible performance changes or simply dislikes the damaged appearance, they may want to own multiple copies of this Layer.įorge Disc - 5 Main article: Forge Disc - 5ĥ, like other odd numbered Core Discs, is asymmetrical and elliptical in shape in order to facilitate a Disc Frame. However, the large gap where the hilt of the sword lies is liable to denting and even chipping due to how thin the molding is. However the asymmetrical design of the metal sword means that this Layer is incredibly unbalanced, a trait that drains the Stamina of Combinations and can break a Combination's banking pattern.
The inclusion of metal increases the weight of the Layer, granting higher inertia that increases both Knock-Out and Burst Attack as well as increasing the Layer's Burst Resistance as the high inertia resists teeth skipping, a property that compliments the tall teeth of Sieg Xcalibur. However the tip of the sword is covered in plastic, to reduce the possibility of breaking the opponent's Layer.
As part of the God Layer System, Sieg Xcalibur features a gimmick the sword is made of metal, akin to the dragon heads found on Lost Longinus. To make up for this, Sieg Xcalibur has an overall diamond shape as opposed to round as such a shape creates four recoil heavy points of contact. However, due to the exaggerated designs around the sword, the contact point doesn't even protrude as far as Xeno Xcalibur's contact point. Takara Tomy's Sieg Xcalibur, like its predecessors Xcalibur and Xeno Xcalibur, is an Attack Type Energy Layer based on the legendary sword Excalibur that features a large sword running down the length of the Layer, the end of which protrudes from the bottom which acts as the primary point of contact.
